At Churches Mutual we encourage members to improve their financial wellbeing by putting money away for a rainy day or to build up a nest egg.
At Churches Mutual we encourage members to improve their financial wellbeing by putting money away for a rainy day or to build up a nest egg. Over the past eight years over a thousand members have saved an average of over £1,000 each in this way. See our Regular Saver Account page for more details on how to open an account.
We appreciate the support from our lump sum investors, many of whom have been with us since the beginning. While we are unable to offer a return based on the Bank of England rate, many of these members are happy to invest a lump sum of at least £2,000 to support the work of Churches Mutual, while having an ethical home for their savings. If you would like to join them, please visit the Covenant Account page for more details.
Like most Credit Union’s Churches Mutual pays a dividend on all its savings accounts rather than interest. The dividend is a ‘profit-share' of the Credit Union’s surplus once all expenses have been met. The amount of dividend varies depending on the type of account held and the amount of trading surplus achieved by Churches Mutual in the previous financial year. We are working towards increasing the rate of return on our savings accounts through increasing the amount of savings that are out on loan to members.
The way to build up savings through regular monthly contributions – sit back and watch your savings grow.
Payroll savings is a benefit we offer to employers and their employees within our common bond, allowing safe, manageable savings through your payslip.
Many of our original members opened Founder Member or Covenant Accounts (originally known as Premier Investment Accounts).
Churches Mutual is a not-for-profit savings & loans co-operative. It is dedicated to encouraging people to save, but also promotes responsible borrowing by providing low-cost loans at times of need.
